Retained one musket and accoutrements. Applied for invalid pension 1892, Wife Missouri Weaver applied for widow’s pension May, 1916. Emanuel is found on the 1870 US Census, Batesville. Under the name Emanuel Weaver, he and wife Missouri are found on the 1900 and 1910 US Census, living in St. Louis, Missouri. He was admitted to the U.S. National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, Danville, Illinois. Discharged Jan. 1916. FAG # 81317479

* Note: All but two of the above were original members of Co. B, 5th Arkansas Colored Infantry, enrolled at Batesville, March and April, 1864, during Union occupation of that town. Mustering April 23, at Little Rock as Co. B, 112th U. S. Colored Infantry.

Asa Ruddle and Benjamin Jones enlisted into the 112th Inf. at Little Rock, June, 1864.

The 11th, 112th, and Old 113th U.S. Colored Infantries were consolidated into the New 113th USCI.

Other soldiers of Co. H, may have been from Independence County or area, but research, thus far, is inconclusive.

Capt. John Cantwell’s brother, James C. Cantwell was promoted to 2nd Lt., assigned to the 4th Arkansas Infantry (African Descent), March 8, 1864. The 4th became the 57th USCI.
